Hi there,
Yesterday was pretty funny, because Pres Johansson came from Sundsvall.(mom's home town). and he came with someone else. This other guy was Finnish, and went off in rapid Finnish with my companion. But then he gets to me, and says.. ''Är du Ingela's son? (are you Ingela's son)'' I swear that happens every week. Ha ha, it's so weird. Erik Eriksson is his name, not sure how it's spelled. But that was pretty funny.
We have probably 15-20 kids in our ward from 17-6. From Cambodia, Burma, and Sweden. They are so cool. Yesterday I sat in the middle of about 5 of them during sacrament meeting, and afterwards we all just talk Swedish and try to teach them English. They are amazing, and this branch is unlike anything I've ever been in with church. You guys have to come visit here one day, it's so darn cool.
But this week was a lot of finding, again, as people love blåsting. Or dropping us. But at the same time there's always people coming out of nowhere. So it's an interesting thing, this here mission thing.
I had the coolest study ever on Eternal Marriage! Ha, I know that sounds a bit ridiculous as a missionary. But if you read that section under chapter 3, lesson 5, you find out the section is just on families. What this whole plan is all about. I learned even further why we make covenants, I learned another reason why he requires priesthood, and to do things in certain ways. My eyes were opened, as I learned so much about families. When it comes to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Every individual needs it, it can help every individual and we all learn how to apply the Atonement in our lives. That's personal though. But when we all live after that Gospel, and do so as a family.. and raise them in that gospel. We are happy. We have bliss. I can't really describe it, or why it happens. But it makes so much sense why this church's emphasis is on family. That's the rest of our lives! Rest of our spirits in evighet! Together, in bliss, with the ones you love. This life is so short... it was so cool to think about. It also made it a little bit easier for me to teach about families, and why we focus on them so much.
Our companionship is going really, really well. Ever since this speaking in Swedish thing began, we've grown closer as we joke more, laugh more, but still work just as hard. So we'll probably continue to SYL all the time. I am grateful for Elder Kinnunen as a companion.. and the longer I'm with him the better missionary I'll become. He really is so cool, and we work like ''mag bulls' as Elder Nieminen would say.
Other than 8 hours of train time, due to Sundsvall splits (I stayed in Övik with Marcus) and situations where I was always the one traveling (I almost have a grey SJ card - free hot chocolate on every train!) it wasn't too eventful this week. Just, ya know, bein' a missionary 'n such.
