The island of Ore. (A game with words – malm means ore, ö means island – but Malmö is not an island!) :)
Malmö as it were, despite Mother's constant warnings.. seems to be my next destination in life. I take the one way boat trip tomorrow morning at 11, and will reach my destination at 8 o'clock in the evening. A three step, simple enough transition that was inevitable.
There's six missionaries in the ward, four Elders and two Sisters. I will be Zone Leader, and I'll be heading a task quite unlike I've ever done before.. as rumors have Malmö being tough to tract due to portcodes.
Wish me luck on this oncoming journey, as Skånish will probably require some heightened language skills (Malmö is in the county of Skåne – where their dialect can be kind of hard to understand). I'm feeling pretty good though.
Visby has been tough, not a lot of question in that regard. But it's been somewhat of a refiner's fire.
In this stay in Visby I've learned much of who I am, what I need to do and where I need to go. I've understood the challenges of life, I think, and know where to ''build my fortifications'' as it were.
I've loved this magnificent island. It reminds me far too much of the island in Lost, as it's been one of the strangest periods in my entire life, but I have learned eons from it.
Elder Miles has been one of them. We honestly did not have one argument the entire time. He has been such a stud, and I'm grateful for him. Because he's such a baller, he will be training a brand new missionary, such as himself just four months previous.
God works in mysterious ways, förstår ni. But we need to rely on him, or we just won't get where we could be, have the peace we all need, and experience the blessings of the eternities.. now.
This week was a good ending one, as I am blessed with those. We had a fantastic concert in the ruins, by the Blombergs and the Rydgrens, and I honestly wish I could explain to you how good they were. But you'll just have to watch the videos of it.. It was another ''crowning event'' as less actives, investigators, and members alike were there in unity for a wonderful evening.
Even the after clean up, in which I instructed 5+ kids, and a few adults in Swedish, in how to put away the benches was a sign to me of how much God has done for me. What I've been able to experience, and the amount of gratitude I have for the Gospel, Church and everything it represents.
As I said yesterday in my departing testimony.. I finished highschool over two years ago, and am not very smart in the ways of the world.
But I know this Gospel is true. I have a burning testimony of every element of it.. and I just want the world to know that.
I love you all.
