This week was the week we've been waiting for. We went around last night during the family phone evening in the Zone and every one was to say a miracle. No one, including us, had a difficult time in coming up with anything.
We started out last week exploring more super cool Göteborg lakes, and just hiking around Bergsjön (a lake).
The most exciting news of the week is Aga Khan! He contacted us last saturday at a bus stop, and asked about the Bible. We didn't have one to give away, so we gave him a Mormons book. We ended meeting him three times this week. He's originally from Asia, but grew up in Norway and Sweden, so speaks 4 languages fluently. He's a cook at a local restaurant, and he is stoked to play soccer with us. We taught him the first three lessons, and he can't handle too much information at one time, and he'll randomly stand up and ask if we can take a break.
Although the information is a lot for him, he had an experience watching the Restoration and said that that has only happened to him once in his life, before that moment. He calls it the Ghost feeling after we explained what it was, and how it makes him humble and want to worship God.
Although he struggles with several Word of Wisdom problems, and has a long way to go, he came to church yesterday and felt the Ghost feeling again! He loves the spirituality, but it is so foreign, and he's so sensitive to it. . so we take things in smaller bites. He feels the Gospel. Understanding will come with time, but he has agreed to be baptized the Saturday before I meet you all again. SO that will be pretty rad.
Meeting Timothy (a cousin, his wife and their 3 week old baby) was super fun. I was worried I would be awkward, as usual, but it was a totally relaxed evening and made me a little baby trunky for Max. We just talked about missions, and life the whole time as he gave us the weirdest, but the best food I'd had in a while. I was quite impressed. We contacted and toured stan right before and after that, so Thursday was a pretty solid day.
Things were going forward full force this week in the zone, and everyone's stoked about it.
I read something this week that adequately describes my feelings right now towards the Gospel, and all the implications. . in the teachings of the Presidents of the Church. The best books ever.
But I'll end with this wonderful quote.
“When we reflect upon the holiness and perfections of our great Master, who has opened a way whereby we may come unto him, even by the sacrifice of himself, our hearts melt within us for his condescension. And when we reflect also, that he has called us to be perfect in all things, that we may be prepared to meet him in peace when he comes in his glory with all the holy angels, we feel to exhort our brethren with boldness, to be humble and prayerful, to walk indeed as children of the light and of the day, that they may have grace to withstand every temptation, and to overcome every evil in the worthy name of our Lord Jesus Christ. For be assured, brethren, that the day is truly near when the Master of the house will rise up and shut the door, and none but such as have on a wedding garment will be permitted to enjoy a seat at the marriage supper!
