Ha, little do you know the American couple from Montana is giving us a real Thanksgiving this upcoming Thursday, so I have that to look forward to.
The weather finally decided to drop this week, and it feels like winter. Although it sounds like it's about the same as Utah. . and there is NO snow! What on earth is up with that? I'll be darned if I don't get a white Chrismas in SWEDEN. Aggravating. I tell everyone how much I want the snow to come and they all think I'm crazy. Last year in this time we were getting buried in Övik. I miss Norrland.
But life is good, after this eventful, stressful week has come to a close. The days until Friday went rather quick as we had about 3-4 lessons a day, with awesome less actives we found who gave us pillowcases and treated us like kings. Our investigators are all progressing quite well (more on them later) but the real activity on the week was Friday.
I don't know if I'd dropped the line to you guys or not before, but while going to a District Meeting I contacted a guy and he turned out to be a Swedish Journalist for Dagen. The biggest Christian newspaper in Sweden. Fast forward a few weeks and he calls our public affairs lady, and she calls President Newell who calls me and talks me through what this guy wants.
He essentially just wanted to follow us around for a few hours on Friday. President had me set up a super District Meeting with the Assistants and the Sister Training Leaders, made sure the Family History Lady was there as well so that when he arrived he could talk to all of us and get a good perspective on us.
The day came, he came, and we gave him a church tour, he interviewed us for a while and was a very lively Swede with strong Göteborska. He was cool though, and we proceeded to take him to our lessons that day. On the way I contacted a lady, had a really good conversation and unbeknownst to her he was scribbling like made the entire contact. Had some good conversations, teaches, travel, and 5 hours later my head was spinning from speaking Swedish non-stop all day with Swedes.
The article will probably be coming out next week, as he wants to take pictures of us. . probably tomorrow. Stay tuned on that.
We also got a referral of someone who wanted to see the church, and it turned out to be 4 young Swedish girls doing a project on Mormons, so I got to answer all of their questions and entertain them for a bit before church started and afterwards.
. . and on top of that we were teaching, everyday, all day.
I had a strange experience this week, where I knew we were supposed to go to a place far away, and look for a certain investigator. The night was fruitless and I was frustrated. I felt a calm assurance I did what I was supposed to, but I'm still confused as to why I was sent out there. Interesting, confusing, but I am positive it was lead by the Spirit. We really don't always know why we do things, even now. But I know with a surety that God leads us, if we will follow the simple counsel in Alma 7:23-24 and learn our Duty before God!
An intense week, but God was definitely behind me.
Love you all.
