Ha ha, I love our family. So good to hear all is well on the other side of the world. Sounds like your week was not too crazy, by anyone's account. Mine was, and this upcoming week will be a little different as well. Life as a missionary I guess.
But as you know, I visited my grandparents and got a new companion this week. Too not completely ordinary things over here.
Dinner at their house was another wonderful experience.. what can I say more? Just absolutely lovely people, and amazing food. Due to ride situations, we were placed at the Käärias house a little bit before we had to go over.. and that was super fun too. Playing a little bit with Hannah, Matilda and William. All super funny, as they make fun of my Swedish. ''It's grattis, not gratis!'' It's the same darn word.
e had 37 people in church on Sunday! Woohoo! We were visited by the Kohlströms, which I believe have been to our house, imagine that, and had an awesome sacrament meeting with 5 investigators in church. We can only count investigators in church if we have a scheduled appointment with them, or we are contiously working with them. So that was cool, to see the hard work kind off just pay off.. even if it was in a completely different way than we had expected. Super cool. But we'll be meeting people again this week, and just continuing on our little road out here in the wonderful town of örnsköldsvik.
Blu Palethu is the man. Turns out he had to buy his last name ''Palethu'' when he got to Sweden (ca 2500 kr) because they don't use last names in Burma. Funny. I'll attach a picture of him just so you can get a small idea of how awesome he really is.
Why is he so awesome? Because I have never seen someone so jazzed about missionary work, and telling people this is the truth.. and I'm around missionaries a lot. He just gets the power we have, the truth we have, and that God is behind each and every one of us. He drove us and the ward mission leader out to Husum last night (30 min away) in order to go visit a bunch of Burmese people who came to Sweden with him so we could teach them. Sadly a J-W came so we couldn't really teach, in order to avoid bashing, a story for a different time, but our mini splits worked well. A good week. A good night, and things are happening here. . don't let anyone think otherwide.
A quick little spiritual thought, and update on investigators in case you were curious ...
In the scriptures. I read, and loved Jacob 5: 70-75. This will sounds cliche a little bit, but there's a reason it even is cliche. Every week, and every time I read the scriptures I get more propelled to do missionary work. I'm learning how to more and more every week, and it's been wonderful. It's been hard, and I'm a bit concerned because it's taken me a long time to figure this out.. but it's okay because I know I am doing as much as I can. Elder Kinnunen this week has really put me to work. I'm learning what a PMG missionary really is. What a PMG missionary can really do with the Spirit, with the Atonement, and with everything that comes with it. He's a stud, and I've been a lot more tired this week than I have in the past, but it's a good thing! It really is preparing me to train and I am stoked about it. But all in due time.
I was led by the spirit this week during English Class. We are thinking about expanding English class a lot with advertisements and what not.. so that was our spiritual thought to the few that were there on Friday. It was a bunch of kids, and it was kind of hard to keep them involved.. but the words that came out of my mouth during that lesson were not my own. I think they really thought about it, and it was cool to see how the Lord's working through me to help me with things I have been worried over such as English class.
Anyway people of this wonderful world. Keep on being awesome.
