That doesn't mean anything, it's just from Lion King.
This week was quite a doozy. As they say. Tuesday started well with 3 of our 4 appointments for the day falling through, and 2 out of 3 the next day. We spent a lot of time out on the streets between Bro and Jakobsberg doing swing bys, so that made for long days but it did feel good to get out and really talk to people on busses again. We did get in a good solid teaches with the old funny finnish ladies in the ward, ha ha, such an experience. For the record, Finnish chocolate is SO much better than Swedish. I'm sorry, but Fazer will always beat Marabou. It's just how it is.
In any case, the first part of our week was a little slow, but we found some killer deals during språk (touring clothing stores is really good for that) and my companion even bought his first Swedish suit. I remember when I was there.
Zone Conference was on Friday in Västerhaninge, and when we walked in there was massive amounts of advertisments, posters, etc. for FamilySearch. The entire day was dedicated to that. President told some good stories, Sister Newell gave her spiel accompanied with the standard videos and the few minutes of blessed real music she always includes with them, followed by the Assistants giving their spiel on how we're going to work with members, and even use FamilySearch via contacting. The entire day was so inspirational, and motivating, and got me pumped for this FamilySearch thing.
And in preparation for the chapels being open all day every day, the chapels are going to be opened here for two days a week from 10-6. We're supposed to figure out how to man those hours effectively with the companionships so we can help people coming in for Family History stuff, or just curious. So that was super intriguing.
The next day we actually helped the Jakobsberg ward out as ''IT guys'' helping 70 year olds connect to the internet so that the FamilySearch day could happen. We a bit of down time during those few hours and I had a chance to look at ours. . It looks like Grandma and Grandpa have done some serious work there, yet there exists no lines for my Swedish lines.
The week came to an amazing finale during church! Out of nowhere we had 4 investigators (one new and really interested lady from Germany who is dying to meet with us) and two less actives, one of those less actives brought that lady from Germany. Things just fell into place as we talked to everyone we could to get things set up for the week and right now we're looking at 3-4 lessons a day every day.
There were lots of lessons to be learned this week, the fact that working hard and staying positive will always benefit you more than you could have imagined, and so on. . but the main spirit of the week that I really captured was found in the Doctrine and Covenants 128:23-24
The exquisite wordery used by the prophet there seem to be the only combination of words that fit the feelings expressed when talking about the Gospel.
''Let the mountains shout for joy, and all ye valleys cry aloud; and all ye seas and dry lands tell the wonders of your Eternal King! And ye rivers, and brooks, and rills, flow down with gladness. Let the woods and all the trees of the field praise the Lord; and ye solid rocks weep for joy! And let the sun, moon, and the morning stars sing together, and let all the sons of God shout for joy! And let the eternal creations declare his name forever and ever! And again I say, how glorious is the voice we hear from heaven, proclaiming in our ears, glory, and salvation, and honor, and immortality, and eternal life; kingdoms, principalities, and powers!''
The following verse is worth reading too with temples, but I think this sums it up pretty well.
Ha det så gott!
