This week was not the most exciting one I have ever had, but it was another week filled with many a teach, spiritual experiences, and your average missionary week.
We had a sum of member dinners this week, and at the beginning of them all we had a really good teach with Gabby where we just taught him the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It was the most unified teach I've had in while, I swear it's easier to teach in Swedish, as we strongly testified about it . . and it brought the spirit, and I've kind of forgotten what it's like to teach it so simply but so powerfully. We decided then to teach all the members the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Each time we did it, we read Alma 7:10-13. . and everytime I read it those verses hit me hard. The answer to every problem, worry, is Jesus Christ. . I love the spirit that comes with reading that.
The quote by Hyrum Smith of preaching the first principles of the Gospel over and over again is so true, just hold to the simplicity!
We had splits this week, and I went with Elder Steven Ray Beus to a few of these member dinners. . and after one of the dinners we were actually quite late, so we decided to take a Tunnelbana (subway) home instead of a train. It was Halloween night in Stockholm and only two people were dressed up. . Dumb. We did however get to go to Alla Helgons Dag, where the Swedes honor their dead by lighting 3 or 4 candles that burn for days and put them on the graces. It's a super cool thing, when one goes to the church garden. . as they say.
We continue to have the church open two days a week, and although that's a bit slow. . we're getting dang good at genealogy.
Fun fact of the week, we had a guy show up from Mongolia to church. Turns out he is a returned missionary from Montana and served in Eureka, Billings, and a few other places that weren't Jordon's areas. Although he served 6 years before Jordon, it turns out he knows Katherine Thomson quite well, so that was kind of a random thing.
We made a lot of goals yesterday to contact all the referrals we are getting, and to see how we can contact the ones we prayerfully chose that could be baptized in the month of November. . and right now we're feeling really good. There's not a whole lot to report, but I feel right now it's as if we are laying the foundation to what's going to be happening soon here in Jakobsberg. It feels good to be a part of it, as last weekly planning was the first enjoyable one I've had in a while.
. . and that's the way the cookie. . falls apart.
