I sit now in the library, and to the left of me goes the fourth city-train full of tourists. It's that time again in Gotland!
I'm not entirely sure how to report this week to you guys. We just do missionary work. We go around and teach the restored Gospel, in the crazy, worldly, city of Visby.
It's really starting to heat up here in terms of vacationers, as every day we see different cruise ships, and sail boats that would make Dan Wheeler so happy. It's really such an interesting place, the isle of the Gots.
We're busy though, with sport night with our English class, sport night with Claudiens kids because we need to teach them ASAP as possible, and we have Fika at the Herrey's nearly every day with another investigator/friend they've found. It's so different than any missionary experience I've had before hear.. It's tough despite what I just described to you. But I love it.
Gorgeous views, and normal, yet so different for me experiences lace the week. I've also realized how bad my English actually is. I just kind of put words I remember together to make some sort of pattern. My brain's not one to handle multiple languages.
I have absolutely no idea what's going on outside of the Rock (Gotland). It's seriously the epidemy of isolation.
Nah, Gotland isn't too exciting for the young folk here - we've talked a ton about the riots in Stockholm. They all think it's super boring on Gotland, and everyone just wants to go party in Stockholm regardless.
Visby; It's a very clean city, no areas even close to being ghetto or dangerous. It needs to be clean with the thousands of tourists that come through here during the summer.
On a spiritual note, as I was pondering, wondering what more I could do.. we had an absolutely fantastic lesson given by Syster Toini Rydgren. I think the lesson was the same most Relief Society lessons had, as we combine every other week.. but she pulled out a scripture that hit home.
Isaiah 55:8-9
''For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my way higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.''
It's a rather obvious lesson on the front that we need to quit worrying so much, start having more faith, and realize that God is a loving God. We know that, we know he can literally whatever he wants, in whatever time frame, but he does what's best. What we can't see.
A simple, but powerful lesson to learn.
Well.
Have a wonderful week.
