That's just the way it is, as Lesane Parish Crooks is famous for saying.
On a bright and early tuesday morning of last week, we received a call from the sisters. Their apartment is laced with bed bugs, and Sister Guinn has just been destroyed by the pests. This, has caused a mighty transfer to happen effective as of last Wednesday. . leaving all of their work load on us. We were both teaching a goodly amount of people, so this week has been much more full than in the past. We've received an extra three area books and this is really a last push for me to get everything on track for when I depart.
Thus actualizing the parable emphasized by a Sir Bednar - in his truck story during General Conference last week. It was clear to me that the sisters leaving this week was the load that was going to propel my truck forward - and it has done exactly this.
What has made this load heavier, but all more effective is the fact that my companion who was to be my executioner, is now being transferred to Jakobsberg and Elder Nightingale will be the one to cut the rope. I'm excited to just give it everything that is in me to make sure that all the information I have about this area, and all the people any Utby missionaries were working with gets the proper attention as in two weeks there will be just Nightingale, and a greenie to lead the work, as I'm enjoying the Taco Bell once again.
Lots of this week was dedicated to going through these area books, and organizing them (as it's hard for me to work without a clear map of how I'm going to visit all the people necessary) and then hitting the streets and teaching those that are progressing.
I got a chance to interview with President Newell this week, and it was actually the day after that he released good ol' Josef Kääria from service (a cousin you served in Finland). Small world.
Everything is slowly starting to align as to all the why's, purpose of my mission, osv. It's been super cool to see.
Can't wait to hear from you!
